# Klopp urges Chamberlain to improve despite two-goal display

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp believes that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain “can do so much better” despite the midfielder’s two goals against Genk.

The Englishman was handed a start by Klopp in Belgium and he repaid the faith of his manager by scoring two wonderful goals.

He combined well in the middle of the pitch with Naby Keita and Fabinho, with many Liverpool fans feeling that is their strongest midfield combination. But Klopp believes Chamberlain has improving to do. As quoted on [HITC](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/10/24/jurgen-klopp-delivers-verdict-on-alex-oxlade-chamberlains-liverp/), he said:

> Ox was like how the game was.

> The goals were brilliant, but he can do so much better. He knows that. But I am not too critical, he has been out for a long time with no rhythm.

Is there really more to come from Chamberlain?

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Absolutely. Prior to his long-term injury, Chamberlain was at his very best for the Reds, producing immaculate midfield performances.

He showed glimpses of that on Wednesday evening and despite the two goals, there’s still a lot of work he can do in terms of ball retention, positioning and stamina.

Klopp needs to use the former Arsenal man wisely in the next couple of weeks and manage his game time. The fact he can do even better than he did yesterday is enough to be excited about.
