# Lazar Markovic set to leave Liverpool for Belgian switch

Lazar Markovic is finally set to end his Anfield career, with the midfielder set to move to Belgium.

Dominick King of the Daily Mail is reporting that the midfielder is set to choose a move to either Anderlecht or Standard Liege in the next forty eight hours, with the Serbian finally leaving Liverpool.

The midfielder was signed as a hot prospect back in 2014, but things never really worked out. Liverpool paid over £20 million for the Serbian from Benfica, but the midfielder only made 19 appearances over four years.

Markovic was sent out on loan to Fenerbahce, Sporting CP, Hull City and Anderlecht last season, as first team opportunities alluded him at Anfield.

However, it now looks like the Serbian will leave Anfield permanently, and make a switch to Belgium.

Markovic is out of contract at the end of the season at Anfield, meaning that the two Belgian sides will be able to get the midfielder for a reduced price potentially.
