# Lazio deny agreement with Liverpool for youngster Adekanye

Lazio claim no deal has been agreed to sign Liverpool youngster Bobby Adekanye.

Recent reports doing the rounds said the winger was close to joining the Serie A giants, with some even suggesting a deal had gone through.

That has been vehemently denied by Lazio, however, who released a statement [saying](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6567159/Lazio-deny-reaching-agreement-Liverpool-winger-Bobby-Adekanye.html):

> In reference to the news released by some media, according to which SS Lazio have found an agreement with the player Bobby Adekanye, the club denies this and announces that it has not signed any contract, nor has it started negotiations for the aforementioned player.

Adekanye’s future at Liverpool does appear to be up, having never quite made the grade at the academy.

Lazio is still a likely next destination for the 19-year-old, but as their statement proves, nothing is set in stone yet.

Adekanye joined Liverpool from Barcelona in 2015 and is blessed with quick feet and lightning pace.

Consistency has forever been the Dutchman’s issue, however, and he has never come close to making his first team debut for the Reds.
