# Leicester eyeing swoop for Clyne

Leicester are targeting Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne ahead of a January move.

[According to The Mirror, via The BBC](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/gossip), Leicester are keen to bring Clyne to the Midlands in the next transfer window.

Clyne is currently playing second fiddle to Trent Alexander-Arnold at Anfield after the young defender burst onto the scene last season and cemented his place in the team.

Leicester are now offering Clyne a way out to go and gain regular first-team minutes in the Premier League.

Clyne only made five first-team appearances for Liverpool last season as he struggled with injury, but he recently made his 100th appearance for the club.

Liverpool signed Clyne from Southampton in 2015 for a fee believed to be in the region of £12.5m.

He has been capped 14 times by England but was not in the squad for the World Cup in Russia.
