# Leipzig chief claims no bids have been made for Werner

RB Leipzig sporting director Markus Krosche claims no bids have been made for Timo Werner.

The striker is being [strongly linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/02/16/liverpool-are-in-advanced-talks-to-sign-timo-werner/) with a move to Liverpool, with a number of other top clubs also interested in signing him.

Speaking to [Sport Bild](https://www.bild.de/bild-plus/sport/fussball/fussball/rb-leipzig-markus-kroesche-hat-neuen-timo-werner-schon-im-kopf-69183396,view=conversionToLogin.bild.html), Krosche played down talk of Werner leaving, even though he understands why he may want to move on.

> There aren’t many things that favour him leaving us.
>
> There has been nothing at all. But it’s normal that Timo gets into the focus of other clubs. He’s playing a very, very good season and scores very, very often.
>
> Timo has a long-term contract and there are not many things that favour him leaving us. We play Champions League, we have a super coaching team and we still want to achieve a lot.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

Some Liverpool fans might feel concerned about this update, but I don’t believe this changes the situation at all.

Werner has [openly spoken](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/timo-werner-liverpool-transfer-news-best-in-world-a4366671.html) of his admiration for the Reds, all but confirming his willingness to join the club, and the reliability of many [reports](https://theathletic.com/1624500/?source=twitteruk) suggest he is a primary transfer target.

To counter Krosche’s point, Werner would be guaranteed Champions League football at Liverpool next season, and could also have a strong chance of going all the way with the Reds – as the club did last season. While Krosche can see Werner staying, there are plenty of factors that could attract him to Anfield.
