# Leipzig to resist Liverpool’s advances on Keita

RB Leipzig are set to resist any attempts by Liverpool to bring Naby Keita to England in the January transfer window.

[According to The Mirror,](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpools-hopes-bringing-naby-keita-11816625) Liverpool are hoping to push Keita’s move to the club up to this month.

Keita will officially become a Liverpool player on July 1st, after they agreed a £55m deal with Leipzig last summer.

Liverpool are willing to pay a premium to complete the move six months earlier, though Leipzig are unwilling to do business.

The German outfit are adamant that Keita will be staying with the club until the summer, as they push for a Champions League spot.

Leipzig are two points off the top four in the Bundesliga, with Keita a key member of their squad.

The midfielder has scored five goals in 20 games this season, with Jurgen Klopp keen to work with him as quickly as possible.

Liverpool want Keita to replace Philippe Coutinho, who joined Barcelona for £142m this week.
