# Liverpool (4) 1-1 (5) Atletico Madrid: Rating the Reds

Liverpool were denied another piece of pre-season silverware as they lost on penalties to Atletico Madrid in the Audi Cup final.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have already won the Premier League Asia Trophy this summer and were hoping to add to that on Wednesday night.

But a first-half header from 19-year-old Keidi Bare handed the lead to the Spanish side. Danny Ward produced a superb save from the initial effort but was helpless as the rebound was prodded home by the youngster.

Liverpool were able to draw level in the 83rd minute. Roberto Firmino was able to coolly slot home from the spot after they were awarded a penalty when Divok Origi was felled in the box.

The match was then sent into penalties after the full-time whistle, with Jordan Henderson producing the only miss of the night as Madrid secured a 5-4 win.
