# Liverpool could miss out on record after Premier League postponement

Liverpool could miss out on becoming the fastest side to win a Premier League title, following the [postponement](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2020/03/confirmed-premier-league-suspend-season-due-to-coronavirus/) of English football on Friday.

The Reds won’t be in action until at least April 5th, when they make the trip to Manchester City.

A win at the Etihad would seal the league title for Jurgen Klopp’s team, leaving them 28 points clear of City, who wouldn’t be able to mathematically catch them.

It means Liverpool can’t become the first-ever team to win the Premier League in March, as could have been the case before the postponement was announced.

On top of that, should the City game not go ahead on the planned date, the Reds could also fail to break Manchester United’s record for earliest title triumph, since the Premier League’s inception in 1992.

Liverpool’s most bitter rivals achieved that feat back in 2000/01, when they won it on [April 14th](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51163821).

Let’s hope the City game goes ahead, although there are no guarantees currently.
