# Liverpool decide against warm weather training camp next month

Liverpool will not head off for a warm weather training camp next month, according to the *[Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-scrap-warmweather-training-camp-as-jurgen-klopp-changes-tact-for-premier-league-run-a4335391.html)*‘s David Lynch.

The Reds have a short winter break for two weeks in February, with [no game](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/scores-fixtures/2020-02) taking place on the weekend of February 8th/9th.

Although there is the option for Liverpool to go somewhere warm, as has [been the case](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-visit-warm-weather-training-15801746) for the last three years, this [report](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-scrap-warmweather-training-camp-as-jurgen-klopp-changes-tact-for-premier-league-run-a4335391.html) states that Jurgen Klopp will give his players a week off instead.

The decision is thought to be ‘recognition for their efforts’ so far this season, with the Reds 14 points clear at the top of the Premier League, with a game in hand.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

I think this is the correct decision by Klopp.

The players deserve a breather after a magnificent campaign to date and it should recharge their batteries ahead of the final three months of the season.

The warm weather training camps haven’t been too beneficial in the past, with the team, in my opinion, actually looking a little rusty after returning home, lacking rhythm and not always picking up positive results afterwards.

For example, they could only draw 0-0 away to a [depleted Manchester United side last season](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47268878), which ultimately proved costly in the title race.

Rather than work them too hard, I believe allowing them to relax will only stand them in good stead ahead of what is hopefully a legendary few months in Liverpool’s history.
