# Liverpool fans are desperate for Reds to sign Sane this summer

Some Liverpool supporters are keen to see Leroy Sane make a shock move to Anfield this summer.

The Reds [attempted](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jan/12/leroy-sane-interview-pep-guardiola-messi-manchester-city) to sign the German before he moved to Manchester City in 2016, with Jurgen Klopp a keen admirer.

Since then, Sane has shone under Pep Guardiola, scoring [39 goals in 134 appearances](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leroy_San%C3%A9#Career_statistics), including the winner at home to Liverpool last season.

A serious knee injury means he [hasn’t played a single Premier League game](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/144711/Show/Leroy-San%C3%A9) in 2019/20 and he [could leave](https://twitter.com/cfbayern/status/1207179462678368256?s=20) the Etihad this summer.

Former City and England right-back Danny Mills has [talked up](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/04/06/pundit-urges-liverpool-to-sign-sane-from-man-city-this-summer/) the idea of Liverpool signing Sane, in what would be a surprise deal, given the rivalry between the two clubs.

While it is unlikely to happen, for that aforementioned reason, fans are still allowed to dream.

These Liverpool supporters took to Twitter to talk up the idea of Sane becoming a Red, claiming he would be an excellent addition.
