# Liverpool fans are desperate for the club to sign Werner

Liverpool have been [closely linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/02/26/liverpool-offer-timo-werner-five-year-e8m-per-season-contract/) with German striker Timo Werner all season.

The RB Leipzig attacker has been in prolific goalscoring form so far, netting 27 times in all competitions ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/timo-werner/leistungsdaten/spieler/170527)).

Many Liverpool fans are eager for the 23-year-old to sign for Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer.

However, as reported on [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/1624500/?source=twitteruk), there is also interest from Manchester United and FC Barcelona, which means there could be a fierce battle for the German’s signature in a few months.

His current deal with RB Leipzig expires in the summer of 2023 and according to [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/timo-werner/profil/spieler/170527), the striker is currently worth £67.5m.

Liverpool fans got the opportunity to watch Werner closely as he came to London to face Tottenham Hotspur in the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League.

The forward was a nuisance for the Spurs defence, proven by the fact that he scored one goal, had four shots and played one key pass in the match ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1435993/LiveStatistics/Europe-Champions-League-2019-2020-Tottenham-RasenBallsport-Leipzig)).

It’s fair to say these Liverpool fans [on Twitter](https://twitter.com/MuzzDesigns/status/1233051501037223937) want the club to secure his services.
