# Liverpool fans are horrified after update regarding Premier League season

Some Liverpool fans are deeply concerned about the prospect of the Reds not winning the Premier League title this season.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have been enjoying one of the greatest periods in their history, not only winning the Champions League recently but also lying on the verge of league glory.

The Reds have built up a staggering 25-point lead over Manchester City, but the outbreak of illness around the world has halted their progress.

There is no return date expected for Premier League action, but [The Athletic’s](https://theathletic.com/1702521/2020/03/27/coronavirus-premier-league-null-void-abandon/?source=shared-article) David Ornstein has provided a worrying update from a Liverpool perspective.

He claims that a number of top flight clubs are behind the idea of voiding the season completely, meaning the Reds may miss out on a first league title since 1990.

Nothing is set in stone, but there is understandable concern from numerous Liverpool fans.

These supporters took to Twitter to voice their feelings, admitting it is a horrifying prospect.

> I’ve said numerous times if this happens I’m done with football.

> The tone seems to be changing around cancelling the Premier League.

> The new league probably won’t start in August anyway so get this season done whenever it’s safe.
