# Liverpool fans are hugely excited as Reds are linked with Bailey move

Liverpool supporters have been left excited with [reports](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1255354/Chelsea-news-85m-Leon-Bailey-transfer-Liverpool-Man-Utd-Arsenal-latest-gossip) linking the Reds with a move to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s £85m-rated Leon Bailey.

The Jamaica international has impressed again for Leverkusen this season, scoring in last week’s [3-1 win away to Rangers](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51726183) in the Europa League.

Possessing blistering pace, quick feet and good end product, Bailey is seen as someone who could add depth to wide areas at Anfield next season, especially with Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi [potentially moving on](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/four-liverpool-players-who-could-21696753).

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane have often lacked top quality deputies out wide for Liverpool, with too much pressure on them to stay fit and perform to a high level every week.

News of the Reds’ [rumoured interest in Bailey](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1255354/Chelsea-news-85m-Leon-Bailey-transfer-Liverpool-Man-Utd-Arsenal-latest-gossip) is, therefore, going down well with a lot of fans.

These Liverpool supporters took to Twitter to hail the Leverkusen star, with one even claiming he could be a better signing than RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner.

> Would love him at Anfield. Excellent player, capable of playing either side of the front three. Brilliant first touch, pace and ability to beat the man / also could hit the byline. He was the stand out player last season. Head and shoulders above Werner.

> Werner and Bailey would be perfect. Both under 100m and add great depth. Bailey similar to Traore.
