# Liverpool fans are surprised by Henderson’s free-kick expertise

Jordan Henderson has been enjoying a season to remember for Liverpool, captaining the Reds towards impending [Premier League glory](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table) and playing some of the best football of his [career](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2020/01/jordan-henderson-labelled-best-midfielder-in-the-world-amid-outstanding-liverpool-form/).

Henderson’s stock has arguably never been higher, with some now [tipping](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/henderson-player-of-the-year-shearer/17pdqpvbd0f8n1q3q2a3x78pjb) him to win the PFA Player of the Year award later this season.

It has been a memorable 12 months for the 29-year-old, who has lifted both the [Champions League](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48368443) and [Club World Cup](https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/025a-0e9f8fe852b8-ff94b0553a0e-1000--club-world-cup-firmino-wins-final-for-liverpool/?referrer=%2fuefachampionsleague%2fnews%2fnewsid%3d2636636) trophies.

Throughout his career, the Liverpool skipper has [generally been praised](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2016/10/steven-gerrard-praises-jordan-hendersons-quality-shuns-next-gerrard-label/) for his industry and physicality in midfield, rather than for being great technically.

Footage of Henderson taking free-kicks in training may suggest otherwise, however, as he fires efforts at goal alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk.

His accuracy is hugely impressive, suggesting he could potentially take more free-kicks for Liverpool moving forward, should Alexander-Arnold or Mohamed Salah give him the opportunity to.

These Reds supporters have been reacting to the video, heaping praise on the captain in the process.

> He’s always had the long range in his locker, hope he shows it more through the season. Would deffo prefer him over FK than Salah
