# Liverpool fans call on the Reds to sign Jamie Vardy

Jamie Vardy scored for the eighth Premier League game in a row as Leicester City closed the gap on league leaders Liverpool to eight points with a 4-1 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park.

After Manchester City lost at home to Manchester United on Saturday, Leicester have emerged as the closest title challengers to the Reds at this point and as such, some Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter with a genius plan to stop Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The idea is for Liverpool to sign Vardy in January, not only to add a goalscorer to their squad but also to put a huge dent in the Leicester side!

Obviously, Leicester would never realistically sell Vardy to Liverpool but if the Reds were looking to wrap up their first title in 30 years, if there was a price that could force te Foxes to sell up, it would probably be worth it!
