# Liverpool fans debate which former star they’d love to see in Klopp’s team

Thousands of Liverpool supporters have been debating who they think would excel most in the current Reds side out of four former stars.

Jurgen Klopp has taken Liverpool to another level since taking charge in 2015, gradually turning them from top-four hopefuls into champions of Europe.

With a 25-point lead in the Premier League this season, and with the campaign hopefully being completed in the near future, the holy grail of the league title could also be heading to Anfield.

Klopp is famed for his high-octane playing style, with the German keen on certain [types](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/43966264) of players.

The 52-year-old requires footballers who are both technically strong and versatile, but also willing to run for the good of the team.

I posed a question on Twitter, asking Liverpool fans who vote on who they think would be best in the current setup out of Dirk Kuyt, Yossi Benayoun, Maxi Rodriguez and Craig Bellamy.

It was Kuyt who came out on top, with the Dutchman receiving 55.2 per cent of the votes:

> Who’d be the best addition to this LFC squad?

These Liverpool supporters discussed their choices, with Kuyt and Bellamy receiving the most love.

> Kuyt as he would fit Klopp’s system best. Will press and track back when needed and can score an important goal.
>
> You wouldn’t worry if he started

> Can see why people would say Dirk, give his work rate. However, Bellamy with his pace, relentless workrate and bastardry – plus his finishing – would excel for us.
>
> Benayoun over Maxi in this leads me to think that people forget just how good Maxi was.

> Great question no easy answer. I go Kuyt cos we are a European team and he popped up with a few good ones in Europe.

> Tricky one. Kuyt would be the best fit among them for obvious reasons. But I'll personally have Maxi or even benayoun above him. Because we have Bobby and Minamino who can do what Kuyt is mainly about.

> Kuyt head and shoulder above the other 3 !

> Loved Kuyt, but peak Bellamy eats the other 3 by a country mile.
