# Liverpool fans lambast pundit after criticising Klopp’s use of youngsters

Jurgen Klopp has done his best to juggle his squad this week, with matches taking place on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

The first of the two games saw the Reds travel to Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

With Klopp in Qatar on Club World Cup duties, Neil Critchley took charge at Villa Park, which saw the youngest starting lineup in Liverpool’s history fielded.

They subsequently lost 5-0, but actually performed well on the whole, having more shots and possession than their opponents.

In a strange turn of events, though, [https://twitter.com/talkSPORT/status/1207068014799130633?s=20](https://twitter.com/talkSPORT/status/1207068014799130633?s=20)*[talkSPORT](https://twitter.com/talkSPORT/status/1207068014799130633?s=20)*‘s Andy Goldstein has laid into Klopp, claiming the Liverpool manager “hung the kids out to dry”:

> “There are players that could’ve been there… Lallana, Origi, Keita..”

These Liverpool supporters have mocked Goldstein’s comments on Twitter.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

Goldstein is a Manchester United fan, which immediate raises suspicions over his comments.

It sounds as though he is simply saying something controversial for the sake of it.

Klopp was absolutely right in playing the youngsters against Villa, while his senior players look to become world champions in Qatar.

At the end of the day, it isn’t the Liverpool boss’ fault that they had to play back-to-back matches in the space of 24 hours.
