# Liverpool fans launch assault on De Bruyne after latest comments

A number of Liverpool fans have laid into Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne, following his comments regarding the Premier League season.

De Bruyne is part of a Manchester City side who at the start of the campaign were still seen as the [favourites to win the title](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/man-city-are-still-favourites-to-win-premier-league-title/uq2l9wtlxb6x1up316th8b2yx), having won the previous two on the bounce.

Instead, the reigning champions have found it impossible to live with an outstanding Liverpool team, as Jurgen Klopp’s men have dropped just five points all season.

It has left the Reds with a 25-point lead over Pep Guardiola’s team, finding themselves within touching distance of a first league title since 1990.

Football has been postponed at a cruel time from a Liverpool perspective, however, with illness around the world putting a stop to all sport.

There has been talk of the entire season being voided, which could, of course, rob the Reds of glory.

De Bruyne has been the latest to suggest that should happen, [claiming](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-city-star-kevin-de-18032702) it is far from ideal, but may have to be the case.
