# Liverpool fans mock Alexander-Arnold after almost scoring comical own goal

Trent Alexander-Arnold played his part in yet another Liverpool victory on Wednesday night, as Jurgen Klopp’s men [won 2-0](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50791641) away to West Ham.

It means the Reds now have a [19-point lead](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table) over Manchester City, with just 14 Premier League games remaining this season.

Eight more victories will guarantee a first league title since 1990.

Although Alexander-Arnold, in my opinion, played well on the whole, one moment almost led to disaster at the London Stadium.

With Liverpool 2-0 up and cruising, the youngster side-footed a clearance against his own post, before the ball was eventually cleared to safety.

It brought back memories of Donald Love’s own goal for Shrewsbury Town last weekend, in the Reds’ [2-2 draw](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51208528) in the FA Cup fourth round.

After the game, Alexander-Arnold posted on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/trentaa98/status/1222651575828611073?s=20) to speak of his happiness about another win:

These Liverpool supporters were more interested in poking fun at the right-back’s expense, however, having so nearly scored a comical own goal.
