# Liverpool fans mock Lucas Digne for ‘terrible’ Merseyside derby performance

There was a time when some Everton supporters stated that Lucas Digne was a better left-back than Andy Robertson, as shown by a couple of examples below.

As is often the case on social media, there were a few Liverpool fans who remembered these points and took to Twitter after the Merseyside Derby to remind others about them.

The Frenchman didn’t have a good game in our opinion and he struggled to deal with 16-year-old Harvey Elliott at times, committing fouls and generally looking ruffled as the Blues lost 1-0 in the FA Cup third round.

These Liverpool supporters have been mocking Digne’s display on Twitter, mentioning the Robertson comparisons in the process.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

In fairness to Digne, he has actually been a good signing by Everton, but he has, in our opinion, been overrated by their fans and a quick look at the stats from last season favour Robertson as the better player.

As shown by the Premier League’s player comparison matrix, Robertson outperformed Digne in most categories, although the Frenchman did score more goals, two of which were from free-kicks.

Digne is a good player, but the stats tend to back up the fact that Robertson has outperformed him and as such, it’s unsurprising to see Liverpool fans bring up those old comments when the former PSG star has a bad game.
