# Liverpool fans praise Alexander-Arnold after he wins December’s Player of the Month

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been named Liverpool’s Player of the Month for December, the club [confirmed](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/381752-trent-alexander-arnold-liverpool-player-of-the-month-december) on Thursday.

The 21-year-old had an exceptional festive period, showing why many consider him the world’s best right-back at the moment.

Alexander-Arnold’s best performance came away to Leicester City on Boxing Day, when he notched one goal and two assists in the Reds’ [4-0 victory](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPUVHaxWGO0).

He added a further two assists in December, against [Everton and Monterrey](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/318871/Show/Trent-Alexander-Arnold), putting together the kind of numbers a midfielder would be proud of.

These Liverpool supporters have been showering Alexander-Arnold with praise on Twitter.

> You deserve it. Congratulations 🎉

### Read Liverpool Verdict

We believe Alexander-Arnold is the most influential full-back in world football at the moment, almost redefining the role.

I feel as if Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich is the other standout candidate, but he only has [one goal and three assists for the whole season in the Bundesliga](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/283323/Show/Joshua-Kimmich) – the same amount Alexander-Arnold managed in December alone in the Premier League.

I believe the quality he possesses in his passing and crossing are worthy of Steven Gerrard at his peak, with [no Premier League player registering more assists (20) since the beginning of last season](https://twitter.com/LFCData/status/1213062848332599296?s=20). Andy Robertson (17) is second, incidentally.

Alexander-Arnold is second only to Sadio Mane in Liverpool’s Player of the Year stakes currently and he is the third-favourite to win the prestigious PFA Player of the Year award, according to *[Oddschecker](https://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/pfa-player-of-the-year)*.

This is a truly special talent we are watching, and at 21, this should only be the beginning of a legendary career.
