# Liverpool fans react as Man City draw Oxford in Carabao Cup quarter-finals

Liverpool are through to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup, following their unforgettable penalty shootout win over Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The Reds having been drawn away to Aston Villa, who they face at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

In the other quarter-final games, Manchester United will host lowly Colchester United, while Everton are at home to Leicester City.

It was Manchester City’s tie away to Oxford United that caught the eye, however, as the Premier League champions enjoyed yet another kind draw.

These Liverpool supporters couldn’t believe that Pep Guardiola’s side had been given another helping hand in a domestic cup, airing their views on Twitter.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

It is bizarre how often City are pitted against weak opposition in both the Carabao Cup and FA Cup, with even a few ‘easy’ Champions League knockout ties thrown in in recent years, too.

It feels like a lifetime ago that they were actually given a genuinely difficult draw – no wonder they won a domestic treble last season!
