# Liverpool fans react as Xavi rates Sterling higher than Salah

Xavi believes Raheem Sterling is currently a more developed footballer than Salah, capable of becoming the best player in the world.

The Manchester City and Liverpool superstars have blossomed into two world class wide players in recent years, terrorising both Premier League and Champions League defences.

Speaking to the [https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/xavi-believes-raheem-sterling-replace-20085853](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/xavi-believes-raheem-sterling-replace-20085853)*[Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/xavi-believes-raheem-sterling-replace-20085853)*, legendary former Barcelona midfielder Xavi believes Sterling is currently better than the Egyptian King:

> You look at young players who can be crowned the future best in the world and you still think of Neymar, Mbappe, Salah, and of course Sterling. I look at the moment – and Sterling is winning that race.

These Liverpool supporters have been reacting to Xavi’s remarks on Twitter, with many a little bemused.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

There is no denying what a special footballer Sterling has become at City, going up another gear after shining in a Liverpool shirt.

Salah remains the better, more devastating player, however, and a truly iconic figure in the modern game.

He has been more prolific in front of goal than Sterling, who has also been superb in that respect, and is more unplayable on his day.

In fact, in terms of form in 2019, Sadio Mane may even have been the best of the three.

It’s not a ludicrous opinion from Xavi, but it’s still a marginally incorrect one.
