# Liverpool fans send message to the FA after Shrewsbury win

Liverpool’s youngsters picked up a [1-0 win at home to Shrewsbury Town](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsDvq9hoSkQ) on Tuesday night, thanks to a second-half own goal from former Manchester United youngster Ro-Shaun Williams.

A packed Anfield watched their side edge out the League One outfit, progressing to the FA Cup fifth round, where they’ll [meet](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/385798-liverpool-to-face-chelsea-in-fa-cup-fifth-round) Chelsea.

Controversy had been the order of the day in the lead-up to the game, following Jurgen Klopp’s [decision](https://www.thisisanfield.com/2020/01/jurgen-klopp-says-he-wont-manage-liverpool-in-fa-cup-replay/) not to manage the Reds.

The German is currently taking his winter break instead, as are his senior players.

Klopp [received](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/jurgen-klopp-fa-cup-replay-17638789) plenty of criticism for supposedly disrespecting the competition and the FA [subsequently](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpools-fa-cup-clash-shrewsbury-17689814) ensured the match wasn’t available for fans to watch worldwide.

This made Tuesday’s win all the sweeter, as Neil Critchley’s hugely inexperienced team secured progress into round five, where Frank Lampard’s side now await at Stamford Bridge.

These Liverpool supporters have been providing their thoughts about the situation on Twitter, saying the Reds did take the FA Cup seriously after all.

> Liverpool’s supposed devaluation of the FA Cup includes an attendance of 52,399 for tonight’s match. The visitors have had a taste of the Anfield atmosphere and a lot of home fans got a rare chance to be part of it – at a price that is far more in reach than usual.

> attendance of 53,000 and Liverpool get the win
>
> maybe the "disrespect" was those who questioned Liverpool's youth infrastructure
