# Liverpool fans show respect for Gundogan after comments about the Reds

A number of Liverpool fans have shown their appreciation for Ilkay Gundogan, following his comments about the Reds’ potential Premier League title win.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have enjoyed an extraordinary season, dropping just five points in 29 league games.

Their incredible form saw them build up a 25-point lead over Manchester City, blowing the champions away since August.

There are fears from some Liverpool supporters that the entire season could be voided, however, due to illness affecting much of the world currently.

It would be a cruel twist of fate after such a memorable 2019/20 campaign, especially having not won the league since 1990.

Someone who wouldn’t have an issue with Liverpool being crowned champions if the league is voided is Gundogan.

Speaking to [ZDF](https://www.zdf.de/sport/das-aktuelle-sportstudio/fussball-corona-pandemie-ilkay-guendogan-100.html), the midfielder outlined why he believes the Reds should end the season as champions.

> For me, that would be OK, yes. You have to be fair as a sportsperson.

These Liverpool fans have been showing their appreciation for Gundogan on Twitter.
