# Liverpool hope Milner and Mane will be fit to face Norwich

Liverpool are hoping that both James Milner and Sadio Mane will be available for Saturday’s trip to Norwich City, according to the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-latest-news-sadio-mane-melwood-jurge-klopp-a4358006.html).

The Reds head to Carrow Road knowing that victory will open up a [25-point lead](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table) over Manchester City.

Milner and Mane [could](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-latest-news-sadio-mane-melwood-jurge-klopp-a4358006.html) both feature in the bottom vs. top Premier League clash, having recovered from respective injury problems.

Liverpool have been without Milner since he limped off in the [FA Cup win over Everton](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50976228), while Mane has been [absent](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/breaking-sadio-mane-forced-mysterious-21347073) after picking up an injury in the [2-1 victory at Wolves](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51130417).

### Read Liverpool Verdict

As Liverpool reach the business end of the season, having both Milner and Mane back will help improve squad depth even further, in my opinion. I believe [Jordan Henderson](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/68659/Fixtures/Jordan-Henderson) and [Gini Wijnaldum](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/33568/Fixtures/Georginio-Wijnaldum)‘s workloads need to be eased, having played every minute in the Premier League in January.

Milner being back should help in that respect, while his vast experience and [title-winning know-how](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Milner#Honours) with Manchester City could also be invaluable.

Mane’s influence goes without saying, with the Senegalese [scoring 11 goals and registering six assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/109915/Show/Sadio-Man%C3%A9) in the league this season.

While the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino have filled in on the left-hand side, Liverpool’s No.10 is another level up from them. His pace, movement, [work ethic](https://www.footballfancast.com/premier-league/liverpool/liverpool-star-sadio-manes-work-rate-is-underappreciated) and intelligence make him an elite player in that position, with [74 goals in 154 Liverpool appearances](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/1303) to show for his efforts.
