# Liverpool hopeful Coutinho’s injury isn’t serious

Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho being substituted during the Reds’ 4-1 win over Man City was the only real downside of another scintillating away performance from Jurgen Klopp’s men.

The Brazilian was taken off in the 68th minute, and according to [Ian Doyle in the Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-playmaker-philippe-coutinho-set-6877927), he left the Etihad saying that he had felt some discomfort in his hamstring.

The 23-year-old has made a habit of scoring against City and added to his tally on Saturday, he also set up Roberto Firmino for Liverpool’s third goal in another wonderful display that is quickly becoming his forte.

Klopp took Coutinho off immediately after he felt some discomfort, and will be hoping that the decision to do so will have help limit any damage.

According to Doyle, Coutinho will go for a scan on the injury, although Liverpool are hopeful that the damage isn’t too severe, with the Brazilian seeming to be in good spirits on the sideline after being substituted.

Speaking about the injury to his star man, Klopp said:

> I hope we got there early enough, It was a little bit of cramp. He felt something. I hope that’s all it was because everybody can see that he’s very important to us. He’s in really good shape in this moment and I hope we could react early enough.
