# Liverpool interested in signing Chelsea defender

Liverpool are one of three European teams interested in signing Chelsea youngster Ola Aina, according to [Adrian Kajumba of the Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-three-way-transfer-tussle-6987046).

The Reds, along with Italian side Napoli and German club Borussia Dortmund, are keen on bringing in the 19-year-old as his contract expires in the summer.

Aina, who has recently been capped for the England Under-20 side, is primarily a right-back, but he is versatile enough to play at left-back and at centre-half.

As the youngster’s contract will expire at the end of June, he’ll be able to start talking with other club’s in January about a summer move, and Liverpool are hopeful that their record of giving young players a chance in the first team will persuade the defender to make the move to Merseyside.

Aina has yet to make a competitive appearance for Chelsea, although he did feature in pre-season. He was also an unused substitute in the Blues’ League Cup win over Walsall in late September.
