# Liverpool Player Ratings: Burnley (H)

Liverpool returned to winning ways with a comfortable 4-2 win over Burnley at Anfield, to reduce the gap to one point at the top of the table.

Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino scored braces for the Reds, while the Clarets got on the scoresheet via Ashley Westwood and Johann-Berg Gudmundsson.

Burnley took the lead in the sixth minute when a swung in Westwood corner went directly into the back of the net. Replays suggested that Alisson was impeded by James Tarkowski.

Liverpool got the equaliser when Mohamed Salah flashed the ball across goal, only to squirm past Tom Heaton and find Firmino who had an open goal to score.

Around the half-hour mark, some good closing down by Adam Lallana forced the ball into the path of Salah, who was stopped by Charlie Taylor but Mane was there to put the home side in the lead.

Heaton’s mis-kicked clearance allowed Salah to run straight at the goal, and again Taylor made a good tackle on the Egyptian. But Firmino was there to pick up the rebound and score into an empty net 23 minutes from time.

Burnley did pull one back in the 91st minute when Gudmundsson made an uncharted back-post run and scored. But Liverpool ensured the margin of the victory was comfortable when Mane rounded Heaton and passed it into an empty net.
