# Liverpool quartet feature in Shearer’s Team of the Season so far

Alan Shearer has [included](https://metro.co.uk/2019/11/19/alan-shearer-picks-four-liverpool-stars-premier-league-team-season-far-11182386/?fbclid=IwAR2BuuleZOBYfjyvD7Udf-RuGrc4M8NNNuKGvlSz2jiLxfaLR4XkvVatDWY) four Liverpool players in his Premier League Team of the Season so far.

The Reds have made a stunning start to the campaign, winning 11 and drawing one of their 12 league games to date.

It means Jurgen Klopp’s side have opened up an eight-point lead over Leicester City and Chelsea, also pulling nine clear of Manchester City.

Liverpool’s brilliance has been outlined by Shearer’s selections, with the Premier League legend picking Trent Alexander-Arnold, Andy Robertson, Fabinho and Sadio Mane in his team.

There is no place for the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, however.

It is hard to ague with Shearer’s side too much, even though Van Dijk arguably deserves to be included.

Sometimes, people expect faultless performances from the Dutchman in every game, but he has still been very good this season.

Fabinho has probably been the pick of Liverpool’s players, although Alexander-Arnold and Robertson have excelled at full-back, while Mane has been the Reds’ attacking inspiration.
