Jurgen Klopp’s side enjoyed a memorable 2019, winning the Champions League and finishing the year top of the Premier League.

Liverpool’s success has been rewarded, with Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane making FIFA 20’s Ultimate XI.

Matthijs de Ligt joins compatriot Van Dijk at centre-back, while N’Golo Kante, Frenkie de Jong and Kevin De Bruyne make up the midfield.

Mane is joined in attack by Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, in what is a star-studded lineup.

All five Liverpool players fully merit their place in the team.

Alisson and Van Dijk’s respective influence has been vast since joining in 2018 and they won numerous awards last year, including PFA Player of the Year for the latter.

Alexander-Arnold has emerged as the most exciting right-back in the world, with 20 Premier League assists to his name since the start of last season – [more than any other player](https://twitter.com/Squawka/status/1212828575109394433?s=20).

Robertson (17) is second in that respect, while Mane was the driving force behind Liverpool’s success in 2019 and is the current favourite to win this season’s PFA Player of the Year award.

The fact that the likes of Joel Matip, Jordan Henderson, Gini Wijnaldum, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino were also fantastic last year speaks volumes about how special this Reds side is.
