# Liverpool still favourites to sign Werner

Liverpool remain favourites to sign Timo Werner this summer, according to Viasport presenter Jan Arge Fjortoft on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/JanAageFjortoft/status/1229714359175217152?s=20).

The RB Leipzig star has enjoyed another productive season, [scoring 25 goals](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/130903/Show/Timo-Werner) in all competitions.

Liverpool have been [tipped](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/02/16/liverpool-are-in-advanced-talks-to-sign-timo-werner/) to acquire the 23-year-old’s signature, but Bayern Munich have also been [linked](https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/timo-werner-bayern-the-favourites-but-leipzig-can-win-the-title-with-80-points-9961) with the striker.

Fjortoft has provided an update on the situation, [claiming](https://twitter.com/JanAageFjortoft/status/1229714359175217152?s=20) saying there is no indication that Bayern will make a move for Werner.

> There is still NO sign that Bayern is going for Werner.\
> \
> My understanding is still that Liverpool is the most likely destination if player leaves RB Leipzig

### Read Liverpool Verdict

There are so many [differing](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/02/18/werners-move-to-liverpool-could-be-affected-by-lack-of-playing-time/) reports on Werner’s future that it is hard to gauge the situation, but Liverpool should do all they can to get their man. The Germany international could add a huge amount of quality and squad depth in the final third, with proven pedigree at the top level.

He has [86 goals in just 145 appearances](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timo_Werner#Club_career_2) for Leipzig, not to mention [11 in 29](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timo_Werner#Club_career_2) for Germany.

That have been claims from the [Independent](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/liverpool-transfer-news-timo-werner-latest-today-now-melissa-reddy-a9339361.html)‘s Melissa Reddy that not being guaranteed regular starts could scupper the move, but I believe Jurgen Klopp could keep Werner happy, using his man management skills that have [helped the likes](https://www.givemesport.com/1476560-fabinhos-patient-path-to-becoming-one-of-liverpools-integral-players) of Fabinho and Andy Robertson settle in.

Joining a side flourishing as much as Liverpool is likely to appeal to any player, so the hope is that Werner would accept his role, knowing that he could still feature regularly. Klopp has shown that he knows [how to get the best](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/takumi-minamino-should-look-fabinho-17619059) out of his signings, even if it takes time for any new arrivals to adapt.
