# Liverpool will win Premier League title “comfortably”, claims Pearce

Liverpool dropped their first Premier League points of the season on Sunday afternoon, leaving it late to draw 1-1 with Manchester United.

It was a disappointing performance from Jurgen Klopp’s men, though, meaning their lead over Manchester City is now down to six points.

The Reds are still seen as narrow favourites to win the title this season, but someone who has no doubt about them going all the way is Stuart Pearce.

Speaking on [https://talksport.com/football/618576/liverpool-premier-league-title-manchester-city-stuart-pearce/](https://talksport.com/football/618576/liverpool-premier-league-title-manchester-city-stuart-pearce/)*[talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/618576/liverpool-premier-league-title-manchester-city-stuart-pearce/)*, the former City manager went as far as to say that Liverpool will cruise to glory come next May:

> I think Liverpool will win the Premier League comfortably this year.

> I’m not sure they’ll go unbeaten, but I can’t see them losing more than two games. They’re still clear favourites.

> Those could be against Manchester City, potentially, but if you go into the game against your nearest rivals with a six point buffer, it will put real pressure on Man City to come out and play.

> That might just suit Liverpool.

Pearce’s comments feel reckless, considering there are still 29 matches to play this season.

Liverpool are the current front-runners, without question, but anything can happen, in terms of injuries and form.

Adam Lallana’s strike was a vital goal in the Reds’ season, keeping them unbeaten and ensuring a defeat didn’t come along and potentially knock the stuffing out of them.

It may be a tired cliche, but Liverpool’s ability to dig deep and get something from the game, when not playing well, was a sign of champions.

There will be twists and turns along the way, however, and it is likely to go to the wire once again.
