# Liverpool willing to keep Kent – where would the winger fit in?

Ryan Kent is unlikely to feature prominently for Liverpool if he stays at the club this season, so a summer exit is his best move.

According to the [https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ryan-kent-transfer-update-liverpool-18838317](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ryan-kent-transfer-update-liverpool-18838317)*[Daily Record](https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/ryan-kent-transfer-update-liverpool-18838317)*, the Reds are “willing to keep” Kent at the club, should no permanent offers come his way.

A return to Rangers has been mooted throughout the summer, as have moves to Championship promotion favourites Leeds United.

As is the case with Harry Wilson, staying at Liverpool will now arguably have a detrimental effect on Kent’s blossoming career.

The 22-year-old excelled on loan at Rangers last season, winning PFA Scotland’s Young Player of the Year award.

Regular football was hugely beneficial to him, but Kent will go from being a key man to rarely even making matchday squads at Liverpool.

In fairness, Jurgen Klopp is reportedly “comfortable” with retaining Kent’s services, but it’s difficult to see where he will feature.

There’s one thing shining in the Scottish Premiership, but being asked to be an effective impact substitute for the European champions is a far greater test.

Having more faces in and around the squad is never necessarily a bad thing for the Reds, but for his own good, Kent should be hoping he can secure a permanent move before the transfer window closes.
