# Loan Watch #8

**Conor Coady**

Former Under 21 captain Conor Coady had a mixed Christmas period at his loan side Sheffield United. In their Boxing Day draw at home to Oldham, Coady was an unused substitute. However in Sheffield United’s 3-1 win at home to Tranmere on Sunday 29th December, Coady came on as a 70th minute substitute and helped his side earn three points. Coady then returned to the starting line up in their 2-1 away defeat to Walsall and the young Scouser had the chance to equalise for Sheffield United, but his right footed effort went just wide. Sheffield United sit in 17th place and now face Premier League side Aston Villa in the FA Cup 3rd round. It’s Coady’s last game with his loan side so he will hoping to go out with a bang. However, Liverpool and Sheffield United are in talks over extending Coady’s loan.

**Kris Peterson**

Under 18/21 winger Kris Peterson started and played the full 90 minutes in both of Tranmere’s festive fixtures. Peterson picked up his first caution as Tranmere beat Shrewsbury. The Swede couldn’t make a significant impact when his side travelled to Conor Coady’s Sheffield United. Peterson and Tranmere’s next game was against League One leaders Wolves. Peterson again played the full 90 minutes and picked up his 2nd yellow card in 3 games when he fouled Wolves’ Michael Jacobs. Peterson did have an effort to win it for Tranmere but his very close range shot was blocked by the Wolves’ defence. Due to Tranmere not being in the FA Cup, their next competitive game will be on January 11th when they host 7th placed Walsall.

**Craig Roddan**

Under 21 holding midfielder Craig Roddan was an unused substitute in Carlisle’s 1-0 away defeat to Preston and didn’t even make the squad in their 2-1 defeat away to Crewe and has since returned to his parent club Liverpool. Roddan made just one appearance for Carlisle throughout his time.

**Andre Wisdom**

Under 21 England captain Andre Wisdom again played the full 90 minutes as his Derby County side got back to winning ways when they beat bottom of the league Barnsley at Oakwell. Wisdom played well and his cross set up Chris Martin for Derby’s 2nd of the game. However, Wisdom did pick up a booking when he fouled Jim O’Brien in the 64th minute. Wisdom started off the new year well but his Derby side had a rare defeat at the hands of Wigan Athletic. The right back played all 90 minutes and set up to key chances in the game, when the score was 1-0 to Wigan. Firstly, Wisdom set up Will Hughes in the 77th minute but his long range effort was saved by Ali Al-Habsi. Then his cross set up Chris Martin but the forward could not replicate what he did 4 days earlier as Derby dropped to 4th place. Wisdom’s next game for Derby is a massive one, when Derby face Chelsea in the FA Cup 3rd round and it will see how well Wisdom has developed as a player.

**Jack Robinson**

Left-back Jack Robinson played 90 minutes in both games for Blackpool over the Christmas and New Year period. He ended 2013 well, but his side didn’t as they lost 1-0 at home to Brighton as his loan side continued to fall down the Championship table. His side then started 2014 off in the worst possible manner as Blackpool lost 2-0 away to Sheffield Wednesday. Robinson played a major part in Wednesday’s first goal as Connor Wickham’s effort deflected off Robinson. His side are now 12th in the Championship following consecutive defeats. Blackpool and Robinson will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they travel to Bolton in the FA Cup 3rd round on Saturday.

**Adam Morgan**

Under 21 forward Adam Morgan only had just one game over the festive period as Yeovil’s New Year’s day fixture with Watford was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. In his other match for Yeovil, Morgan was an unused substitute in their 5-1 drubbing away to Huddersfield. Morgan has now joined Yeovil on a permanent transfer so will not be included in future loan watch pieces. Every Liverpool fan wishes him well.
