# Man City fans react as David Silva is ruled out of trip to Liverpool

The news that David Silva has been [ruled out](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/11/04/david-silva-ruled-out-of-liverpool-clash/) of Manchester City’s trip to Liverpool is an obvious boost for the Reds.

The Spaniard picked up a muscular problem in Saturday’s 2-1 win at home to Southampton on Saturday, with Pep Guardiola confirming that he will play no part in proceedings at Anfield this weekend.

Liverpool will go into Sunday’s huge clash six points clear of their Premier League title rivals, knowing that a win would be massive in the title race.

Silva’s absence is a blow for the champions and these City supporters have been reacting to the news on Twitter.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

Silva has to go down as one of the greatest foreign Premier League players of all time, following a stunning career at City.

There are suggestions that the 33-year-old is not quite the player he once was, however, as age begins to catch up with him.

Despite this, not having to face Silva acts a major positive for Jurgen Klopp, ahead of one of the biggest league games of his Anfield tenure.

City are already without Aymeric Laporte, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Rodri and Leroy Sane, as Liverpool look for a potentially season-defining victory.
