# Man United fan ejected for alleged racist abuse during Liverpool clash

A Manchester United supporter was ejected from Old Trafford for alleged racist abuse during the 1-1 draw with Liverpool, according to the [https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/oct/21/supporter-ejected-for-alleged-racial-abuse-during-manchester-united-v-liverpool](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/oct/21/supporter-ejected-for-alleged-racial-abuse-during-manchester-united-v-liverpool)*[Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/oct/21/supporter-ejected-for-alleged-racial-abuse-during-manchester-united-v-liverpool)*.

The Reds took a point back to Merseyside on Sunday, after Adam Lallana’s late strike cancelled out Marcus Rashford’s opener.

United have confirmed that an incident took place involving racism and they are now launching an investigation into the issue.

Should the supporter in question be found guilty, he could face an indefinite ban, in what is the latest racist incident to have come to the fore in recent weeks.

A number of England players were the subject of such abuse away to Bulgaria last week, while Haringey Borough’s FA Cup clash with Yeovil Town on Saturday was abandoned for the same reason.
