# Mane ‘sees his long-term future’ at Liverpool, claims Pearce

Sadio Mane ‘sees his long-term future’ at Anfield, according to [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/1711380/2020/04/01/james-pearce-liverpool-raheem-sterling-manchester-city/?source=shared-article)‘s James Pearce.

The 27-year-old has blossomed into a world-class player under Jurgen Klopp, scoring [77 goals in 161 appearances](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/1303).

Mane has been [tipped](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/03/30/real-madrid-prioritise-signing-mane-or-haaland-this-summer/) to join Real Madrid this summer, however, with the Senegalese considered one of their primary transfer targets.

Despite this, Pearce [believes](https://theathletic.com/1711380/2020/04/01/james-pearce-liverpool-raheem-sterling-manchester-city/?source=shared-article) Liverpool’s No.10 will stay put, saying he is perfectly happy at Anfield.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

This is a massive boost for the Reds, with Mane their standout player this season, in my opinion. The wide man has [14 goals and seven assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/109915/Show/Sadio-Man%C3%A9) in the Premier League, and he has been the most consistent of Liverpool’s much-famed front-three, even though Mohamed Salah has [scored more](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/108226/Show/Mohamed-Salah) times.

I also think Mane’s [last-gasp winner at Aston Villa](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50190998) in November could be looked back on as *the* key moment of 2019/20, at a time when Manchester City looked to be narrowing the gap at the top to just four points.

He has become an irreplaceable figure out on the left-hand side, so him staying at the club is absolutely vital.
