# Milner: Sturridge makes me sick!

Liverpool vice-captain James Milner has jokingly said that watching striker Daniel Sturridge in training makes him sick.

The forward has returned to training after another injury lay-off, this time with a knee problem, and Milner says that he’s hit his stride quickly and looks like he’s never been away.

Milner [said](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/477121/James-Milner-watching-Liverpool-player-makes-him-feel-sick):

> He has been out a long time but he has looked sharp in training, with his shots and turns. It was ridiculous, made me sick to be honest, that he could do that straight away.
>
> He can be a big player for us.

Liverpool have had to play without Sturridge for most of 2015, and they’ll be hoping that he can finally stay fit once he returns to first team action.

Milner also spoke about Philippe Coutinho, saying that everyone is hoping for the best in terms of the Brazilian’s injury that he picked up in the 4-1 win over Man City.

The 29-year-old added:

> We need Philippe to be OK, he was feeling his hamstring.
>
> We also need some of the other players back.
>
> We had Daniel Sturridge on the bench at City, that’s nice to see. It will be nicer to see him back on the pitch.
>
> We’ve had ups and downs with injuries —but we won’t use that as an excuse.

Despite not having a recognised striker on the pitch, Liverpool’s front three of Adam Lallana, Roberto Firmino and Coutinho caused havoc for City’s defence and could have scored many more goals had it not been for Joe Hart making a few very good saves.
