# Mohamed Salah labeled the best signing of the summer

The Egypt International has been tremendous in form this season since his move from Roma to Anfield, and ex-England International Dean Ashton claims he’s the signing of the summer.

The Merseysiders brought the Egyptian from Roma in a record deal of €42 million and since then, the wideman has bagged 12 goals in just 17 appearances in all competitions this season.

Ashton, who seems to be convinced that the 25-year-old has improved greatly from his at Chelsea, named him as the best signing of the summer.

“Mohamed Salah is the best signing of the summer,” Ashton told the [Premier League’s official website](https://www.premierleague.com/news/511470). “He looks a totally different player from his time at Chelsea.

“I’ve been surprised by how quick, how direct he is, and he’s a better finisher than I thought.

”He’s really added to that Liverpool side.”

Meanwhile, the Egyptian lead the Liverpool squad in training earlier this week as he asked Egypt boss Hector Cuper for him to left out of the squad for their next World Cup qualifier away to Ghana, in which they drew 1-1.

Egypt secured a spot in the next World Cup finals in Russia with Salah bagging a brace in a dramatic win over Congo last month – so he stayed in England to train with his club.

The 25-year-old was spotted at Liverpool training base Melwood with Jurgen Klopp and players who didn’t receive an international call-up – namely Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Daniel Sturridge, James Milner and Danny Ings, who were also at the training base preparing for the Premier League match this weekend.

Salah will be hungry for more goals as he looks to continue his impressive form for Liverpool when his side host Southampton in their next Premier League game on November 18.

Several [Premier League predictions](https://footballpredictions.com/footballpredictions/premierleaguepredictions/) providers can’t see anything else happening other than Liverpool talking all three points.
