# Neco Williams set to be offered new Liverpool deal

Neco Williams is in line to earn a new-and-improved Liverpool contract, according to *[Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-liverpool-to-offer-bumper-new-deal-save-fsg-a-fortune/)*.

The 18-year-old has impressed for the Reds this season, shining in the home FA Cup wins over [Everton](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50976228) and [Shrewsbury Town](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51380211).

Williams’ performances are set to be rewarded, with Liverpool keen on tying him down to a new deal.

Both a contract extension and a significant pay rise are expected, ahead of his 19th birthday in April.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

I think Williams has shown enough in his [four first-team appearances](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/1349) for Liverpool to suggest he has a long-term future at Anfield, impressing both defensively and going forward.

A tenacious, energetic presence, there are comparisons to be made with Trent Alexander-Arnold in those respects, although it is important that he isn’t built up too much, in my opinion.

Williams already has [two assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/386969/Show/Neco-Williams) to his name for Liverpool and I believe he can be Alexander-Arnold’s right-back deputy moving forward, potentially saving the Reds money in the process.

Should he continue to grow as a player, it could save Jurgen Klopp having to splash out on a new right-back.

Williams still has lots of maturing to do, but early evidence proves a new deal makes sense.
