# Oxlade-Chamberlain not happy with contribution despite goal

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has said he still is not happy with his performances in a Liverpool shirt, despite netting in the team’s 5-0 trouncing of Swansea, [The Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/alex-oxlade-chamberlain-scores-5-14083342) reports.

The 24-year-old got his first goal at Anfield equalled his best goal scoring haul for a season with his 3rd strike of the campaign but still feels he has more to give for the Reds.

> We won and we got the three points. But I’ve got to say I was a bit disappointed with myself today.\
> I’m happy I managed to get the goal but I just tried to work hard through the 90 minutes and when the chance came at the end I was happy to put that away. That made it a bit better. But I just want more out of myself and there were a few moments when I could have done better with my end product.\
> There were a few times today I could have done better for sure, but 5-0 for the boys I’m really happy with that and I just want to keep pushing on and pushing myself to do better. That’s why I’m not too happy.

The Englishman joined Liverpool from Premier League rivals Arsenal on deadline day in the summer and has still to live up to his £35 million price tag.

He has been deployed by Jurgen Klopp on the wing and also in a central midfield role but has struggled to keep pace with the incredible form shown by the likes of top scorer Salah and other attacking talent such as Firmino, Mane and Phillipe Coutinho.

With the Merseyside team currently sitting in fourth place in the league, they will need all their quality players firing if they are to stay there with Spurs hot on their heels, as they look for Champions League nights at Anfield again next season.

Oxlade-Chamberlain and his teammates will have another chance to impress their home fans on Saturday against Leicester and will be looking for a win and a good performance to end the year.
