# Pique refuses to talk about Liverpool defeat on TV show

Liverpool’s 4-0 win over Barcelona last season was one of the greatest nights in the club’s history.

Trailing 3-0 from the Champions League semi-final first leg, the Reds produced an astonishing comeback.

It is the best win of Jurgen Klopp’s tenure and will never be forgotten by anyone of a Reds persuasion.

On the flip side, the defeat did a huge amount of damage to Barcelona, who were left stunned after the game.

Over six months on, the players are clearly still reeling about what happened, with Gerard Pique refusing to talk about it.

The Barca legend was a guest on TV show La Resistencia on Wednesday night, but when asked by an audience member to discuss the Liverpool match, he [joked](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/im-leaving-barcelona-star-gerard-17258924):

> No Liverpool. I’m leaving! We said that we wouldn’t talk about that.

Although Pique’s comments weren’t entirely serious, enough has been said since the game to suggest that Barca are still trying to recover from the loss.

They would have believed that they were in the final after their 3-0 win, with just one away goal effectively ending the tie at Anfield.

What happened next showed the power of the Reds at home, adding to their current aura under Klopp.

To inflict such damaging long-term pain on a club of Barca’s stature speaks volumes.
