# Predicted Liverpool XI: Southampton (A)

Liverpool visit St Mary’s Stadium this Friday night to play an in-form Southampton team.

The Reds are currently second in the table but will have a chance to regain top spot if they win, as Manchester City are in FA Cup action this weekend.

However, getting those three points against a decent Southampton side, especially on the south coast, won’t be easy. Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men have won their last two games and look a team that is here to stay in the Premier League.

Hence, if Jurgen Klopp’s men are to maintain their pace up top, they will have to be at their very best.

In terms of injury updates, Virgil van Dijk trained normally and looks to be in contention to face his former side.

Other than that, Joe Gomez is slowly getting up to speed in first-team training, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is a bit further away when it comes to being available shortly.
