# PSG set to rival Liverpool to the signing of Insigne

PSG are said to be eyeing a move for Liverpool transfer target Lorenzo Insigne.

[According to Calcio Mercato,](https://sportwitness.co.uk/liverpool-will-soon-come-forward-sign-player-jurgen-klopp-likes-much/)PSG are considering Insigne as a potential replacement for Neymar – if he were to leave the French capital.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is a fan of Insigne and is keen to work with him at Anfield in the near future, with the club said to be set to make an offer.

They now face potential competition from PSG, who would be able to beat Liverpool in a financial battle.

Insigne has been in-form for Napoli this season, with six goals in eight Serie A appearances so far.

The Italian international scored 14 in all competitions last season and has scored 70 goals in 272 games for Napoli during his career.

The 27-year-old has been with Napoli throughout his entire career to date but could be tempted by the prospect of playing in the Premier League with Liverpool next season.

Insigne also scored the only goal of the game as Napoli beat Liverpool 1-0 in the Champions League earlier this season.
