# Real Madrid eye up Robertson as Marcelo’s replacement

Real Madrid are lining up a move for Andy Robertson, according to *Defensa Central*, via [https://sportwitness.co.uk/liverpool-star-greatly-appreciated/](https://sportwitness.co.uk/liverpool-star-greatly-appreciated/)*[Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/liverpool-star-greatly-appreciated/)*.

The 25-year-old has matured into a wonderful footballer over the past couple of years, having moved to Liverpool in the summer of 2017.

He is now the best left-back in the world in the eyes of many, proving to be an integral player under Jurgen Klopp.

This surprising new report claims that Madrid see Robertson as a potential replacement for Marcelo, who is slowly edging towards the end of his career.

The Liga giants are believed to have been watching the Scot closely in recent times, with scouts raving about his performances.

It is mentioned that the move might not go through for a few years, depending on when Marcelo leaves.

In truth, this sounds like a flimsy report, so Liverpool supporters shouldn’t be too concerned about it.

Robertson seems extremely content at Anfield and there is no reason why he would want to move anywhere else currently.

He is one of the key men for the European champions, performing at the peak of his powers.

Moving to Madrid would be a huge risk – one that simply isn’t worth taking.
