# Robertson withdraws from Scotland squad

Andy Robertson has withdrawn from the Scotland squad for their upcoming clashes with Cyprus and Kazakhstan, according to *[BBC Sport](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/scotland/50389854)*.

The *Liverpool Echo*‘s [Paul Gorst](https://twitter.com/ptgorst/status/1194200491577761792?s=20) says that there is “no confirmation of an injury ” for the left-back, however.

Robertson was superb in Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Manchester City on Sunday afternoon, crossing brilliantly for Mohamed Salah to make it 2-0 at Anfield.

His form for Scotland has come under scrutiny, however, with a number of supporters criticism his performances as captain, failing to match his Reds displays.

Robertson subsequently deleted his social media accounts for a brief period during a recent international break, although there was no proof that it was as a result of online abuse.

The 25-year-old has been a magnificent signing for the Reds since joining from Hull City in the summer of 2017.

He is now widely regarded as the best left-back in the world, proving both defensively solid and a creative machine going forward.

Jurgen Klopp wouldn’t swap him for anyone and may be relieved to hear that he won’t be on international duty now.
