# Rodri could miss Liverpool clash with hamstring injury

Rodri limped out of Manchester City’s 5-1 win over Atalanta on Tuesday night with a hamstring injury.

It is the latest fitness blow to the Premier League champions, who are already missing a number of key men, most notably centre-back Aymeric Laporte.

Rodri had been filling in at centre-back prior to his injury and there are fears that he could miss City’s trip to Liverpool on November 10th.

[Speaking](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-city-rodri-injury-news-17130202) after the Champions League victory over Atalanta, Pep Guardiola provided an update on the situation:

> Hopefully it will be 10 days if \[his hamstring\] is not broken. If it is broken it will be three weeks or one month.

> I didn’t speak with Rodri or the doctor just yet but looks like a hamstring.

### Read Liverpool Verdict

Rodri has been an impressive signing since arriving from Atletico Madrid in the summer, showcasing his versatility and quality.

If his hamstring issue is serious, he will be a big loss at Anfield next month, in what could be a season-defining fixture.

Liverpool will already be fancying their chances of hurting a makeshift City defence – if Rodri is also out, it should only make them weaker.

If feels more likely that the issue isn’t too major, but more will become clearer in the coming days.
