# Salah and Alisson convinced Klavan to move to Italy

Ragnar Klavan has revealed that Mohamed Salah and new summer signing Alisson recommended Serie A to him ahead of his move to Cagliari from Liverpool, the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/mohamed-salah-alisson-convince-team-13099485)report.

The 32-year-old defender, who made over 50 appearances for the Reds during his two-year stay at Anfield, made the move to Italy’s top division in a deal worth £2 million.

Klavan struggled for regular game time under Jurgen Klopp last season and was keen on a move away in search of more minutes on the field.

Talking to Sky Sport Italia after completing the switch, the Estonian international revealed that he spoke to former team-mate and current Lazio midfielder Lucas Leiva as well as former Roma players Salah and Alisson ahead of the proposed move.

> I had offers from several teams, including in other countries, but Cagliari really wanted me.

> Darijo Srna advised me to come here, as I talked to him via Dejan Lovren. Other Liverpool teammates like Alisson, Salah and Lucas Leiva all spoke highly of Serie A.

Klavan becomes the fifth player to leave the club this summer, with Emre Can, Jon Flanagan, Danny Ward and Jordan Williams all securing permanent moves away from Anfield during the current window.
