# Salah given rest by Egypt

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will welcome the news that star performer Mohamed Salah has been given a rest in the Egyptian national side for their final World Cup qualifying game, the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpools-mohamed-salah-given-breather-13842147) report.

Egypt are set to take on Ghana on November 12th, with their place at the World Cup in Russia next year already secured, Salah has been given a well-deserved rest for the national side after guiding them to their first World Cup since 1990.

The forward scored both goals in the 2-1 win over Congo which sealed their place in Russia, with the winner coming from the penalty spot in the final minute of the game.

Liverpool’s record signing has hit the ground running since joining in the summer from Roma for a fee worth just shy of £37 million, and is the Reds top scorer in all competitions, with nine goals in 15 appearances.

Salah did, however, miss a penalty against Huddersfield at the weekend, with some suggestions he could already be taken off spot-kick taking duties.
